Client Biography

The United Kingdom International Search and Rescue Team (UK-ISAR), operational 24/7 year-round, is dedicated to responding to humanitarian accidents or disasters globally. Formed initially in response to the success of humanitarian efforts in Iraq at the end of the Gulf War, UK-ISAR evolved from the UK Fire Services Search and Rescue Team into a specialized entity under the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. This team, capable of deploying within 24 hours to any international disaster, is designed to be self-sufficient for up to 10 days. Team members, who are trained firefighters selected for their suitability for overseas missions, receive additional training beyond standard firefighting duties. They carry equipment to sustain operations in hostile environments worldwide, reflecting the team's readiness and commitment to providing rapid, effective assistance in times of international crisis.

Summary

Social90 undertook a significant project creating a documentary-style video for the UK Search and Rescue (UK-ISAR) team in conjunction with the United Nations. The purpose of the video was to showcase UK-ISAR's capabilities during their 2023 training exercise in Geneva, which was part of their United Nations reclassification for 2024. This video and accompanying photo portfolio were developed to demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of UK-ISAR in various search and rescue scenarios, executed at the "Epesses" training facility.

The project had unique challenges that the Social90 team navigated successfully. They operated 24 hours a day, adapting to severe weather conditions, including working through the night in sub-zero temperatures. It was crucial for the production crew to avoid impeding the ISAR teams' operations while capturing the intensive training exercises.

Collaboration was key, as the production involved not just the UK-ISAR team but also French and Spanish ISAR teams, highlighting international cooperation in disaster response training.

Social90 were praised for the high-quality output and their professional conduct.

The project was a testament to Social90’s ability to produce high-quality content under demanding circumstances while maintaining the integrity of the critical training operations of international search and rescue teams.

“This exercise was a very important part of UK-ISAR’s annual training. We wanted to show to our fellow ISAR teams across the world our operational standard and how we do it.

Social90 excelled in showcasing this training exercise, their attention to detail and professionalism is unbeaten.

Myself and my team were particularly impressed with the amount of equipment like drones and lighting rigs S90 uses, even by our standards they showed us some tech we had never seen before!

I look forward to working with S90 on our next training exercise and would highly recommend them.”

“S90 are masters of their craft.”

“This job was amazing to be a part of. Outside companies are rarely brought in to work on ISAR and UN exercises so we feel particularly honored to have worked on this project.

We were very happy with the finished video and photos, they demonstrate the gold standard that UK-ISAR sets for the rest of the world.”
